About the Program

Semester and summer abroad program in Heidelberg -  your opportunity of a lifetime!

OUR MISSION: The European Study Center provides meaningful and affordable study abroad programs for students to live and learn in a new and different cultural setting. Through the supportive and positive learning environment at the ESC, every student has the opportunity to excel academically and to develop international communication and leadership skills. The ESC experience fosters self-confidence, personal growth and impacts the future careers of our students.

The European Study Center features a partnership between the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) and CEPA Europe. This partnership allows UIW to offer students a great semester and summer study abroad program in Heidelberg, Germany with a variety of courses taught at the European Study Center as well as at our local partner school, the SRH University Heidelberg. Students attending SRH courses are able to take full advantage of the SRH campus and get immersed into German student life.

All courses are taught in English and credits are issued by UIW (a regionally accredited U.S. university) so that students can efficiently work towards graduation while experiencing student life the German way.* Included in the price of this study abroad program are numerous cultural excursions. Courses will combine lectures and discussions with on-site visits to European political and economic institutions, German and multinational corporations, and historical and cultural points of interest.

* Students requiring the extra AACSB accreditation for their business courses may request a transcript  from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), which is an official affiliate university and School of Record (SOR) for the ESC program (an additional non-refundable transcript fee of $500 will apply).

Students who already speak German and would like to continue their language studies also have the option of adding an intensive German language course to the program. Internships and service learning opportunities are also available.
