Dr. Alberto Rubio started his teaching career at Monterrey Tech in Guadalajara Mexico in 1999. While at this position, he received the Purdue University Graduate Student Award for Outstanding Teaching. After completing his studies, Dr. Rubio-Sanchez secured an assistant professor of marketing position with the Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island obtaining top evaluations for his teaching performance.
In 2009, Dr Rubio-Sanchez moved to San Antonio enticed by and offer to teach at the University of the Incarnate Word. This was a particularly attractive proposition since UIW graduates more Hispanic students than any other private university in the country, thus allowing him to serve this underrepresented population. In addition to his Associate Professor of Marketing position at UIW, Dr. Rubio-Sanchez has served as the Director of the Hispanic Marketing Institute, and Coordinator for the Marketing department. Since joining UIW, he has received top teaching evaluations as well as being nominated for the Presidential Teaching Award on three separate occasions. This award is the highest honor conferred to the faculty at the university.
